Contract Type: Contract/ day rate - 6 months


Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Asset and Configuration Build Manager to join our Technology & Change department. As part of our Information Security Roadmap we aim to build a hardware and software asset register within Service Now in 6 months. This will become the foundation of our CMDB/SACM.

Reporting into the Head of Service Design & Transition, the Service Asset and Configuration Build Manager is Responsible for leading  


About The Role:

  • Develop and implement a CMDB, which can be utilized by the IT teams to maximize and protect the IT investment in infrastructure and software
  • Implement a software license register and a service catalogue of applications and IT services.
  • Lead the design and build an IT hardware and software asset repository, utilizing automated discovery tools, Service Now, and other data imports.
  • Design and Implement an IT Service Asset and Configuration management Process, which can be operated by Technical teams and governed by an IT configuration manager and achieve compliance with CIS 1 and 2 controls
  • Contribute to Monthly/Weekly Management Reports, including metrics as agreed with line management. Including reporting to internal and external auditors 


**Please note that initially, the role will be based working from home but will move to a hybrid model of home and office-based working in the future.


About You:


To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong commitment to operational standards in a service management and operations environment – 24/7 global organisation 
  • Extensive Configuration management experience
  • Previous experience in designing and building IT Configuration/ Service Asset Management systems.
  • A pragmatic understanding of the ITIL SACM Framework. 
  • Understanding of ITIL Processes 
  • Good knowledge and experience of the principles of service delivery and management – operating within ITIL process framework and continual service improvement 
  • A broad understanding of complex technical, business issues, hardware, software Exposure to various delivery methodologies (waterfall, agile, etc)
  • Good understanding of Service Management and Operations
  • It would be advantageous to have a qualification in ITIL Foundation, ITIL v3 Practitioner, ITIL v3 Expert, BCS Specialist Certificates or ITIL Intermediate
  • Good organisational skills. Ability to plan, organize, and influence technical teams.
  • Able to operate in an Agile Framework
  • Experience of working in a large organisation with a high volume of change whilst being risk averse
