The Role

We are looking for experienced management consultants who are looking to move away from the traditional model and have the freedoms and flexibilities to work as independent entities. You will be independent but will not be working alone, you will likely be in a team of 3-6 like-minded experts all focusing on delivering a common goal. You will have the support of the team and the whole wider organisation. You will have the freedom to choose the projects you work on and the flexibility to make work fit around your life, commitments and preferences.

As such, we put a great emphasis on understanding our consultants, what they want to achieve and how they want to go about it. We are well placed to support you in that journey and commit to helping you achieve your goals where possible.

As a consultant you will;

  • Work in a client-facing team with other professionals;
  • You will help our clients to understand, define and illustrate their issues in a clear concise way;
  • You will be expected hypothesise solutions based on your findings then identify the necessary follow-up steps;
  • You will help put a series of recommendations together which address the clients needs inline with their goals and aspirations based on the synthesis;
  • You will help the client devise ways of delivering their visions which they are comfortable and confident in executing;
  • You will work side-by-side on site with our clients to analyse problems and define solutions;
  • You will be expected to take ownership of problems and work towards a positive outcome;
  • You may be involved with more than one simultaneous work-stream so the ability to self-manage your time if fundamental;
  • You may be expected to take the lead in prioritising work and illustrating breakdown structures which convert to plans/ roadmaps;
  • You will be expected to communicate effectively across an organisation so will be confident communicating with users right through to the executive suite;

Skills and Experience

You will have a successful career in a top-tier management consulting organisation. You will have worked in an advisory position before at a consultant or associate level or have been in a senior position within a smaller firm. Additionally, you will have spent considerable time client facing across a range of industries and ideally have experience within the UK public sector and/or financial markets. You will have helped deliver a number of initiatives varying in complexity and size. You will have a very strong business and/or technology focused background of engagements. As a result, we are looking for the following specific skills and attributes;

  • You will be client focused with a passion for delivering excellence;
  • You will have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a world renowned consultancy firm;
  • You will be experienced in taking a holistic view in order to show all elements have been considered;
  • We manage the business development and client relationship process internally. However, you will be expected to be familiar with this to show an understanding and appreciation;
  • You will be confident communicating at all levels within an organisation and be comfortable working with users right through to the executive suite;
  • You will have excellent problem-solving skills and be able to segment a complex problem into manageable sections;
  • You will be helping the client identify the underlying fundamental issues and be able to identify sources and evidence to illustrate the impact;
  • You will be experienced at constructing recommendations which address the core problems and presenting these to client stakeholders to attain support and buy-in;
  • You will have experience of constructing and managing consulting engagements and you must be comfortable in your abilities to self-manage changing priorities in a fast-paced delivery driven environment;
  • You will have very strong negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal;
  • You will be personable, approachable and be able to maintain a sense of humour and perspective even when working under pressure;
