We are currently recruiting for a Head of Engineering

Department of Health and Social Care - Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency

The Head of Engineering plays a leadership role in the engineering department where he seeks excellence in all engineering disciplines inclusive of data processing, quality assurance, application development, analytics, machine learning, algorithms, and data warehousing.


As a Head of Engineering, you will be: 

  • Influential in establishing good engineering practices and have expert knowhow on Open Source, Cloud First, Microservices and DevOps principals and its associated industry technology like React, NodeJS, Rust, Kubernetes, Istio, Azure CDN, AWS, Argocd, CosmosDB, GraphQL, Github, Cypress Test, Terraform and Docker.
  • Working as part of the Senior Leadership Group to develop and implement the Digital Strategy.
  • Building and managing a Development Team comprising of 3 staff members, contingent labour and service providers.
  • Responsible for the overall system development life-cycle.

 

You’ll have:

  • You will hold a degree or post-graduate qualification.
  • Trained and led teams
  • Agile delivery and DevOps ways of working
  • You will hold a relevant Agile practitioner and ITIL 4 Foundation qualifications or equivalent.
  • It would be desirable for you to hold certified Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) and PRINCE2 practitioner qualifications or equivalent.
