TECHNICAL ARCHITECT, JAVA

We are hiring a dedicated group of Technical Architects to lead the transformation of our customer applications and shape the future of our re-platforming project. Our architects will lay the foundation of our brand-new Engineering Team in London. As part of a growing agile team, you will have the ability to help shape our working practices as well as play a key role defining standards and systems across our development teams.
As the Technical Architect for our Java microservices, you will take ownership of our new customer application APIs and define the roadmap for the future evolution of core functionality. You will play an integral role in the next phase of our re-platforming project, providing our customers with a world leading service.
The role will include working collaboratively with our London Engineering and Product teams as well as our nearshore developers in EMEA and our IT team based in Memphis, US. This position will be responsible for guiding the design and implementation of new and existing digital products with a focus on transforming our digital offering.

·Take ownership of the technical road map and long-term vision of the practice
·Work with other technical architects to provide support and guidance ensuring high quality solutions
·Mentor and support members of the team to develop their technical knowledge and abilities
·Carry out technical due diligence
·Championing technical excellence.
·Establishing technical vision.
·Documenting and communicating roadmaps.
·Support teams in their analysis of issues and resolution.
·Work with other Technical Architects to setup architectural and infrastructural projects
Qualifications / Experience
·Deep technical knowledge of Java and the Spring framework.
·Knowledge of common web technologies, such as ELK and cloud services.
·Capable of designing high end microservice systems, including event-based architectures, caching strategies and high uptime resilience patterns.
·Proven experience as a lead engineer.
·Experience of designing and implementing enterprise solutions.
·Adept at problem solving and support engineering teams’ decision making.
·Experienced at working in cross-team, agile environments.
·Understanding of current trends and wider technologies.
·Continuous delivery and integration.
·Experience working with remote teams and an ability to work autonomously.
Ad hoc travel to international locations will be required from time to time
