Contract Description

Rate: Negotiable

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 3 months initially

Working Pattern: Fully remote - must be within commutable distance to Oxfordshire as there may be some on site presence required if the role extends



Our client is a market-leading publisher of online medical and academic journals. They are just beginning their journey to break down a legacy application and rebuild it to meet business needs whilst ensuring there is no impact for the support of multiple other products. 



  • Design and work with complex data models 
  • Work closely with other development team members to understand complex product requirements and translate them into software designs or data models 
  • Aggregate and link complex data to provide single source of truth microservice domains
  • Facilitate communications between stakeholders and development teams
  • Provide constant communication and clarification throughout the entire project life
  • Assist stakeholders in the articulation of value in data to be captured/linked, and help them to prioritise on that basis


Key Skills: 

  • Strong proficiency with data manipulation language including optimisation techniques 
  • Strong understanding of normalised/dimensional data modelling principle 
  • Strong knowledge of multiple data storage subsystems
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong knowledge in industry best practices in data analysis
  • Knowledge in using and developing applicable tool sets, eg Oracle
  • Ability to interface competently with other technical personnel or team members to
  • understand requirements
  • Awareness of Java & AWS services
