Contract Description

We have exciting opportunities for a talented SC Cleared Operations Manager to join our fast growing management consultancy as a contractor (operating inside IR35).

Successful candidates will be based at our client site in Abbey Wood and will be working In Service Support or Logistics Execution activity supporting departments such as Land, Sea and Air of the military.

The daily rate will be between £255 and £346 depending on the level of the role.

The initial contract period would be 6 months with high potential to extend.

The roles offer flexible hours (40 hours a week) and options to work from home.

ROLE OUTLINE

As an Operations Manager, you will report to a PM or Service Delivery Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring, forecasting and reporting the costs of service delivery to the end user
  • Maintaining service levels according to policy
  • Preparation and maintenance of the Service Delivery Plan
  • Understanding of all aspects of demand and supply management within the support chain, and ability to consider how to maximise availability whilst minimising cost and inventory
  • Negotiating contracts and managing suppliers to deliver OTIF
  • Continuous Improvement of the service delivered with an eye for cost savings and process improvement
  • Integrate with other functions in DE&S such as Commercial, Finance, Engineering etc.
  • Working within governance arrangements for the delivery of the service, aligned with iLog best practice in F&RP, Planning reviews and KPIs.
  • Management of budgets with Finance staff, including managing the approval process, monitoring actual spend and updating forecasts accordingly
  • Identifying risks that impact the security of supply and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.


The successful candidate will 

  • Hold valid security clearance (SC) to work on site (essential)
  • Hold a UK passport
  • Be educated to degree level, or equivalent with demonstrable experience of being delivery focused with a broad understanding of the Defence Support Environment.
  • Have a detailed understanding of Supply Chain Management (SCM) 
  • Hold previous experience directly within the MOD or with companies that have provided direct supply chain support to the MOD
