The Opportunity

Landmark Information Group employs over 900 people, 450 working in the field of IT, 280 of whom are working directly within software development.

We are hiring a Business Analyst to join our Solutions team. You will work alongside the development and QA teams and your main tasks will include performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and performing some user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role you should have a natural analytical way of thinking and be able to explain difficult concepts to non-technical users.

The core elements of the role will be the identification and definition of requirements for improving parts of processes and systems, reducing their costs, enhancing their sustainability along with the quantification of potential business benefits.

The creation of viable specifications and acceptance criteria in preparation for the construction of IT systems based on the Customers ' requirements.

The Business Analyst will work closely with Service Delivery Managers and the Sales/Bid team to understand the key business drivers and to provide business analysis services in support of the project, service design and delivery to aid in the achievement of the business goals.

A solid grasp of enterprise technologies together with the ability to apply Agile thinking will enable the Business Analyst to provide best in class solutions to deliver quality services in line with the Customer requirements.

Responsibilities Include
  • Assist in the analysis of business processes, functions and procedures to determine the most effective business systems technology that meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Assist in establishing systems specifications and objectives, based on business requirements and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Managing customer expectations and consulting/problem-solving to entrench a relationship built on trust and delivery.
  • Participate in design and requirements gathering meetings to identify business solutions.
  • Work with technical resources to ensure the accurate translation of specifications into workable application code.
  • Create Test Cases and Test Scenarios.
  • Validate Test Plans and assist during the execution of User Acceptance Testing.
  • Participate in system development and design as a representative of the user community
  • Identify business issues and document possible solutions
  • Execute training for users and other team members
  • Assist with planning and actively support pilot projects and roll-out tasks
Team responsibilities:
  • Mentor junior team members and assume the role of leader where appropriate
  • Support the Solutions Product Practice.
  • Undertake Project Managements cover where required

Qualifications & Training
  • Business Process Analysis skills training
  • Presentation skills training
  • ITIL Foundation
  • SQL Exposure
  • Experience of participation in major IT developments
  • Experience in developing business process models and using recognised modelling tools.
  • Understanding of the role of a business analyst in relation to the other roles in a major IT development, in particular Project manager; System analyst; System architect and designers; DBA and Developers
  • Detailed knowledge of both waterfall and agile development cycles
