We have an immediate requirement for a DevOps Engineer for an upcoming cloud solutions delivery project who will be responsible for designing and implementing effective and efficient DevOps processes to ensure frictionless delivery of software to our cloud platform(s). The role will work closely with the Solutions and Security Architects as well as the software delivery team and other members of the Cloud Platform and Architecture Service (CPAS) team. Our DevOps team play a major role in the design and implementation of products, applications, websites and tools both external and internal. Modern development requires a broad range of skills along with a natural aptitude for rapid self-learning. We require our developers to have knowledge and experience spanning a wide range of tools and technologies as well as being well skilled in 1 or more specific fields.

Main tasks to include:
·To support all internally developed application transition and release support for all development activities
·To provide input on Technical Architecture and solutions in order to continuously improve all elements of Landmark Infrastructure
·Actively look for opportunities to innovate and improve services
·Conduct development and implementation tasks for Landmark systems including project planning, analysis, designing, programming & developing, testing, and debugging
·Conduct analysis of the Systems requirements of the organisation producing requirement specifications as needed and undertaking evaluations of software options.
·Assist with the ongoing troubleshooting and development of systems.
·To keep up to date with changes and advances in the IT industry and systems development
General Systems Maintenance and Administration
·To ensure Landmarks applications and systems are functioning correctly, by undertaking regular monitoring and analyst, escalating as appropriate.
·Work with other Systems Administrators in maintaining applications and related systems in accordance with agreed priorities and standards.
·To ensure that all technical documentation is kept up-to-date and to agreed standards
·Regularly analyse systems to ensure that they are capable for future planned capacity and functionality.
·Investigate user requirements for application and infrastructure changes, design and implement appropriate solutions
Knowledge Transfer and Operations Transition
·Transfer and document technical support procedures and activities on an on-going and daily basis as activities are undertaken
·Track progress of this knowledge transfer weekly to ensure the objectives targets are being achieved – and adjust approach where required to maintain the targets
·Package repeating support and monitoring activities and transfer to the monitoring team
·Package operational housekeeping and capacity planning activities and transfer to the Operations Team
·Ascertain improvements needed in the code/change deployment and support (pre and post release) activities, document and engage with Release Manager to drive business and technical improvements
·Document 1st/2nd/3rd line support activities, then work closely with all teams to gain agreement of who and what support activities & responsibilities lie where.
·At least 5 years’ experience in a technical support and design role, with 2 years experience providing 3rd level support in a similar field
·Ability to analyse problems, determine appropriate solutions
·In-depth experience in technical support encompassing varying hardware and software platforms
·Experience of running production workloads on a major public cloud provider (Azure, AWS, GCP).
·Experience of running Azure PaaS technologies
·Experience of running serverless technologies (e.g. Azure Functions, AWS Lambda)
·Proven experience with at least one CI tool set
·Proven experience in Web Application support / debugging & management
·Good understanding of database technologies in cloud environments.
·Experience on providing 3rd line systems and helpdesk style technical support to internal and/or external users
·Ability to understand user requirements and translate into technical solutions
·Scripting (Powershell, python or similar)
·Use / Understanding / Exposure of at least one high level programming language.
·IT Security practices (Cloud based)
·Varied Windows and Linux Operating Systems administration skills
·Networking Skills including LAN / WAN and Internet
·Experience with managing API platforms
·Experience with monitoring platforms
