DevOps Engineer – Inside IR35

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer for a contract role with the Department for Work and Pensions to be based remotely/in the Leeds area.



As a DevOps Engineer you will:


  • Be responsible for the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment and configuration activities
  • Work within multifunctional teams to gather requirements, evaluate tools and implement/update solutions
  • Build and execute test plans
  • Provision environments
  • Conduct application performance reviews
  • Assist in the migration of legacy systems, as well as triaging and fixing operational issues



You’ll have:


  • Provisioned and supported Linux based development, test and QA environments with configuration management tools such as puppet (v4.2 or above) and using distributed version control systems such as Git
  • Deployed scalable and highly available HTTP services using applications such as NGINX v1.8 or above
  • Delivered continuous integration for projects with automated builds, testing and deployment methods using technologies such as Jenkins (v2 or above), SonarQube (v5.1 or above)
  • Provisioned and supported databases such as MySQL (v5.0 or above), MongoDB (v3.0 or above) and Cassandra (v2.2 or above)
  • Ideally, built and deployed micro-services/containers using technologies such as Docker (v1.10 or above), Kubernetes (v1.1 or above) and Rancher (v1 or above)
  • Ideally, proven experience of working within an Agile software development framework using SCRUM or Kanban
