Contract Description

YHF is a relatively new charity, set up less than five years ago to work with inspirational organisations providing services focused on young people in the London Borough of Harrow.

Our mission is to have better, sustainable, high quality support services for children and young people in Harrow.

The post is a full time 1 year contract. Given the short term nature of this post YHF is willing to consider freelance/contractors as well as salaried roles.

The ‘Help Harrow’ portal is a collaboration between The Young Harrow Foundation, Harrow Council and the local voluntary sector to respond to the Covid19 crisis. Launched in April 2020, the portal provides residents with a ‘one stop shop’ access point to vital services during the emergency. During the first six weeks of lockdown, Help Harrow provided over up to 5000 households a week with emergency food and supplies, coordinated through local food banks and volunteers and managed entirely through an automated ticket system within the Help Harrow website. We have since expanded Help Harrow to offer advice and support services and mental health and wellbeing support – responding as the crisis unfolds to emerging needs within the borough.

We are now working on making the portable sustainable and effective beyond the immediate crisis. Help Harrow is a unique opportunity to make it easier for Harrow residents to get the support they need – from their laptop or smartphone, through a trusted community organisation or through their doctor or local school. The next phase of the project is to expand our community access points, train new organisations to join the platform, manage the user experience and work closely with our developer to continue improving the site.

We are looking for an experienced Digital projects manager who can take what we have built so far and drive it forwards. This role is a unique opportunity to coordinate a ground-breaking multi-sector partnership and have a significant and tangible impact on the community and in particular, the lives of children and young people in Harrow.

We seek to be an employer whose staff represent the diversity of communities in Harrow. We actively encourage applicants with the required skills which helps us meet this.
