The Opportunity

At Landmark we are constantly looking to push the boundaries of what our clients think is possible. Our technical architecture forms the backbone of that challenge and we are currently seeking an outstanding contract Cloud Solutions Architect who is required for an upcoming cloud solution delivery project and will be responsible for establishing a cloud 1st design delivered on AWS. Experience with delivering solutions for Geo Spatial Data would be an advantage.

The role will work with other members of the Cloud Platform and Architecture Services (CPAS) team and Senior Developers to produce a scalable, secure and performant solutions. This is a technical leadership role and requires authority, accuracy, and consistency within all communications. The Cloud Solution Architect will be expected to convey solution designs not only to internal teams but may be required to interface with our customers and their Architecture and delivery assurance teams.

This is a cutting-edge technical leadership role will require the applicant to have authority, accuracy and consistency within all communications. Providing business critical architecture and world class solutions. You will be delivering multiple concurrent tasks with varying technologies.

Key Tasks

  • Provide high quality, relevant and accurate technical leadership in the architecting of solutions and their components
  • Own and evangelise about technology choices made within your portfolio and ensure alignment with Landmark enterprise architecture standards
  • Contribute to the technology strategy, representing both engineering and the product teams accordingly
  • Provide support for innovation & new ideas and ensure product team members feel empowered to challenge the way we do things
  • Ensure all engineering team members are fully aware of the detail of technical deliverables that you are accountable for at all stages of delivery
  • Definition and documentation of solutions architecture patterns & practices that provide guidance and consistency in our developments
  • Clearly communicate options and recommendations that enable product features to be released on time, with an agreed scope and to the required quality
  • Drive the solution architecture through all stages of delivery, adapting where relevant and influencing others as appropriate
  • Support the production & execution of software delivery estimates and plans to support the needs of the business
  • Support the business case preparation through the identification of key architectural deliveries
  • Management of architectural risk through formal channels and architectural reviews
  • Promote a pragmatic approach to software development, balancing functional change and architectural integrity
  • Successfully manage relevant risks and issues with appropriate stakeholders
  • Collaborate with DevOps engineers to enable a successful transition to the Operations team
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to ensure tenders are achievable
  • Careful consideration of NFR’s to ensure that focus is placed across the application portfolio on:

oPerformance & scalability;

oReliability and availability/failover/disaster recovery;

oPatch management;

oSecure operations;

oOperational sustainability;

  • Oversee consistency of component design to enable efficient rotation of project resources or refactoring of the solution

Engage in customer focused activities, supporting Landmark Information Group and ensuring the product team produces solutions that are highly relevant to the market

Our Ideal Candidate:

·Excellent knowledge of technology environments, including software architectures, application architectures, Cloud, Mobile and associated programming techniques.

·Particular focus on Azure Cloud Architecture in high demand, highly secure environments

·Good understanding of Quality and Information Security principals

·Is an effective communicator, able to manage and maintain effective communications with both Internal and external stakeholders.

·Uses subject matter expertise and business knowledge to optimise effectiveness of communication

·Demonstrates technical thought leadership through appropriate messages and direction

·Is able to plan, allocate and manage development work for both themselves and their department

·Is an effective self manager and understands their sphere of influence and uses this proactively to achieve successful business outcomes
