Contract Description

Our London-based non-profit is going through a rebrand. We are looking for an experienced web designer with in-depth knowledge in CMS, SEO and digital marketing to help us build our new website.

Responsibilities

  • Register our new domain name and set up email accounts
  • Find and liaise with the web host to set up the website
  • Recommend the best CMS alternatives or templates to build the new website
  • Develop our website using the selected CMS and/or template
  • Develop and/or customise the theme and plugins to meet our requirements
  • Liaise with external companies to acquire their applications, customise them when needed and embed on our site
  • Design the site following UX/UI design rules
  • Develop the site adhering to accessibility guidelines
  • Ensure the site is responsive and works with touch, keyboards and mouse interfaces
  • Migrate content from old website to new website
  • Suggest and implement SEO related improvements to content and website
  • Set up a Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Google Ads accounts and customise as per the organisation's needs.
  • Make the website GDPR-compliant
  • Find and fix any errors in the website
  • Write simple guidelines for the rest of the team on how to manage the website and every single application and functionality related to it

About you

  • Few years' experience with CMS, theme & plug-in development
  • Able to set up and adapt CMS to meet business requirements
  • Experience with coding: HTML, XHTML, HTML5 and CSS, CSS3, PHP
  • Ability to develop a responsive website that is appealing, visual and accessible
  • Knowledgeable in SEO and digital analytics
  • Knowledgeable or willing to learn about accessibility and GDPR-compliance
  • Previous experience in the non-profit sector is highly valuable

Salary: 1500 - 2000 pounds for the whole project (depending on the applicant 's experience and location)

Commitment: Part-time for 2 - 3 months
