The Role

Semafone is now looking to bolster our pre-existing team with a highly skilled Contract Engineer. They will need to work with the team to bring knowledge and velocity to the current Automation Project.

The Team

Semafone is increasing resource and expertise to fully automate its core product CardProtect Voice+. The current team consists of two members from DevOps and one from our Customer Delivery Team.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Accountable for contributing towards the knowledge of the team.
  • Accountable for contributing towards the organisation of the team.
  • Responsible for increasing the velocity of the Automation Project.

Key Competencies

The contractor needs to be completely competent, have experience and expertise in the following:

  • Ansible, our chosen scripting tool. (Experience with Salt/Puppet & Chef is also an advantage)
  • Linux, our chosen operating system (emphasis on Debian/Ubuntu)
  • SSH Tunnelling /FTP/HTTPS, as security and hardening is at the heart of our business.
  • Our team would benefit from a Networking expert
  • Git and the GitFlow branching model. (Extensive working knowledge of this model is essential)
  • Linux repositories and preferably apt repository would be useful
  • Security experience with PCI environments would put you at a major advantage.
  • Scripting is key to this contract, ideally with experience in Bash and Python
  • Experience with IPTables is preferred.
