I am looking for a L1 Network Operations Support Engineer where you will be providing proactive and reactive network monitoring, operations and troubleshooting of customer BNG network.
The L1 Network Operations Support Engineer will work alongside Engineering staff, supporting them with low complexity maintenance and troubleshooting activities:
Candidates must have demonstrable hands on experience of network operations and maintenance, preferably in a NOC environment, and in an operator or service provider environment.
Candidates need to demonstrate flexibility with working patterns as defined by the customer requirement.
They must be IT literate, able to multitask, work either independently or collaboratively, and have excellent communication skills. They must demonstrate a desire to learn new things, improve their knowledge, and take a keen interest in current and emerging technologies.
Academic & Technical Background
A good understanding of TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, ARP, BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IS-IS, L2 & L3 VPN.
Working knowledge of BNG, AAA and ESM.
Minimum of 5 years' experience working in Telecoms and Data Networks.
Industry standard certification such as CCNA, or CCNP.
HNC/HND in Engineering
Knowledge of Nokia 7750 SR and 7210 SAS IP products.
Nokia product CLI and NFM-P experience.
Nokia certification - e.g. NRS1, NRS2.
L1 Network Operations Support Engineers are required to work an 8 hr shift as part of a 24x7 shift pattern.
Candidates must currently hold, or be eligible for BPSS security clearance. This requires 4 checks:
