Senior Digital Learning Developer

3 month contract role - London

The DesignLab.

The Design Lab is a growing creative learning solutions team within People Advisory Services (PAS), who specialise in designing and developing engaging user-centred digital and classroom learning experiences for EY's clients. Our solutions are designed to fulfil a range of learning needs, from bitesize content for learning on-the-go and video learning to lighten the cognitive load, to more experiential and immersive scenario-based interventions. The team collaborates with EY consulting teams and subject matter specialists across EMEIA, and globally, to deliver bespoke learning interventions that drive meaningful behavioural and organisational change.

The team is comprised of instructional designers, creative designers, digital specialists and developers, all experienced in the conceptualisation and development of tailor-made learning solutions.

Role overview

We are looking for a confident and experienced Senior Digital Developer to join the Design Lab team, to design and deliver high quality and innovative digital learning solutions for EY's clients. The post-holder will be required to work closely with the Lead Digital Developer, manage third-party development teams, and liaise with EY's project team, to deliver effective and high-quality learning deliverables. Initially this role will be a 3-month contract position with potential for contract extension.

Responsibilities & tasks

  • Manage the technical development and deployment of high-volume digital learning projects using a third-party development team
  • Manage the technical testing process through QA and client UAT
  • Provide clear guidance to internal and external designers and developers to create assets that meet project requirements.
  • Work with the Lead Digital Developer to create reusable assets and themes that can improve the quality and scalability of our solutions
  • Design and develop with a focus on clear and intuitive UX/UI design
  • Work closely with team members to translate storyboards into engaging digital learning experiences by utilising design techniques such as the creation of wireframes, mockups or prototypes
  • Propose technical solutions that will allow the team to offer complex solutions such as games or simulation scenarios
  • Develop and maintain interactive digital learning content using a range of popular authoring tools and development tools
  • Manage the delivery of products and work with internal or external clients to diagnose and fix any issues
  • Provide input into shaping the direction of digital learning development
  • Effectively collaborate with the wider team, both onsite and virtually, to create high quality outputs within the agreed timeframe
  • Prioritise effectively and work on multiple project deliverables with tight deadlines

  • Experience working in a digital development or e-learning development role creating interactive learning experiences.

Person specification, qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • Experience developing in a digital learning context
  • Experience of working with Rapid Authoring Tools (Storyline, Lectora, Evolve, Adapt, Gomo)
  • Experience developing custom interactive web applications using HTML, CSS and JS
  • User-centric design skills with a focus on UX and UI
  • Experience working with LMS or CMS platforms
  • Experience using browser development tools to diagnose and fix bugs
  • Experience using code editor development tools such as Visual Studio or Dreamweaver
  • Experience using prototyping tools such as Sketch, Invision or Adobe XD
  • Desire to keep improving and stay up to date with the latest digital technology trends
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience developing content that meets accessibility standards

Desirable:

    • Experience working with design systems
  • Knowledge of learning design theories methodologies.
