What's the role?

You'll be joining an industry-leading team of Solution & Technical Azure Architects, the engineering force behind the consumption of Cloud services on Microsoft Azure & Hybrid solutions, leading Architecture Design for a utilities client.

What you'll be doing

  • The role will focus on the operational elements of an Azure practice that sits closely alongside a project team; and while it will have a focus on operations, the position will have an increasing part to play n project work overtime.
  • Moreover, the position will interact with business stakeholders and the role holder will need the acumen to speak to senior stakeholders who may not always understand detail on a technical level.
  • Build and manage the Azure foundation platform to enable application deployments
  • Engineer solutions on Azure foundation platform using Infrastructure-as-Code methods (eg Terraform)
  • Ensure compliancy with Operational risk standards (eg Network, Firewall, OS, Logging, Monitoring, Availability, Resiliency)
  • Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities
  • Integrate, configure, deploy and manage centrally provided common cloud services (eg IAM, networking, monitoring, Operating systems, Containers.)
  • Good leadership and teamwork skills - Works collaboratively in an agile environment with DevOps application pods' to provide Azure specific capability/skills required to deliver the service

Who we're looking for

  • Technically strong around Azure. Must be able to:

    • Complete back ups in Azure for VM's and databases

    • Complete patching into Azure

    • Monitor services and resources in Azure

    • Setup alerts

    Soft Skills:

    • Experience of working with Project teams - communicating with technical and non-technical people

    • Not just getting involved in technical delivery - this role will be in meetings with stakeholders to discuss problems, progress and solutions. Must be confident talking to stakeholders in this capacity
