Position Summary: We are currently seeking a highly motivated expert in machine learning for our EY Brain Team. The team is developing predictive models for the capital markets. Yet we don 't expect you to be proficient in capital markets.

We need people who can identify appropriate modelling techniques to answer the most critical business questions and use this analysis to infer well substantiated business insights in predicting transactions on financial markets. Your portfolio of skills covers a wide range of machine learning techniques and advanced statistical techniques for classification, feature selection, scoring methods, recommendations, forecasting, as well as data management, data visualization, and optimization, applied in a commercial context. The ideal candidate will be passionate about artificial intelligence and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.

You will,

  • Develop machine learning models, natural language processing and statistical analyses
  • Develop and analyse the algorithms that could be used to solve a given problem and rank them by their success probability
  • Retrieve, prepare and process data from a variety of sources
  • Analyse large datasets of numeric and text values
  • Use vast data sources available in-house and research for additional external sources
  • Explore and visualize data to gain an understanding, identify differences in data distribution
  • Define validation strategies
  • Explain rationale behind decisions made to choose algorithms and how the algorithms achieve the results
  • Present results of modelling and options for future direction
  • Understand business objectives and develop models that help to achieve them, along with metrics to track their progress
  • Build valued relationships with internal peers and external clients and contribute to the development of business direction.
  • Communicate effectively with EY Brain team members, managers, and stakeholders
  • Be a respected professional acting as the integral part in building and motivating high-performing teams.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • In-depth understanding of machine learning concepts across all areas, i.e. supervised and unsupervised learning, different types of neural networks, natural language processing
  • Proficiency in implementing end-to-end machine learning models from conception to deployment, including retrieving and preparing data, classification, time-series analysis, feature selection, regression, collaborative filtering, association rules, sentiment analysis, topic modelling, statistical inference, validation methods
  • Proficiency in exploring data sets and designing, constructing, and rapidly testing, iterating exploratory analyses to identify patterns using hypothesis-driven, problem-solving approach
  • Proficiency with Python and machine learning libraries scikit-learn and pandas
  • Proficiency with a deep learning framework, e.g. PyTorch, TensorfFlow, Keras
  • Proficiency in using query languages, i.e. SQL, bigdata alternatives
  • Proficiency in selecting hardware to run ML models with a required latency
  • Experience in implementing repeatable experiments using MLFlow and Databricks
  • Experience with Spark programming model, i.e. PySpark
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, e.g. MongoDB, Hive, Pig
  • Experience with implementation of different types of Neural Networks
  • Some understanding of financial data
  • Concise and clear communication
  • Communicating with influence when presenting and explaining results
  • Ability to cope with challenges of different opinions
  • Ability to make well-reasoned, data-driven decisions in ambiguous or interpretive situations
  • Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, work under tight deadlines and rapidly changing directions
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, but collaborate very well in a team

 

Job Requirements:

Education:

Excellent academic background ideally Maters or PhD in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Engineering, Operational Research, Computer Science, or other related field with strong quantitative focus.

Strong knowledge in following areas: Machine Learning, Forecasting, Natural Language Processing, Statistics, and Operations Research
