Capco are looking for an experienced BASEL UAT Lead to assist us on what will initially be a 6-month long contract assignment.

Role Description


This role sits within the Wholesale (Global Banking (GB), Commercial Banking (CMB), and Global Trade and Receivables Finance (GTRF)) Basel III Reform Programme.

The User Acceptance Test Lead will act as a subject matter expert in testing and validating that Business requirements have been implemented as required prior to go-live, across each of the three delivery workstreams within the Programme. leading the development / creation of an overall test approach, test plans, test scenarios / test cases, definition of UAT entry/exit criteria. The UAT Lead will work closely with the project team to understand requirements, business processes and solution designs and will establish, own and drive UAT testing activities from start to finish, including participation in and facilitation of post-launch Business verification testing activities for releases, as required.


Leading and planning UAT activity, test approach, test plans, test cases, defect management, test status reporting within a commercial banking risk environment
Understanding of end to end credit process and hands-on experience with testing of collateral management systems and credit risk systems in general is highly desirable
Identification and management of risks, issues, mitigations as they pertain to UAT
Definition of UAT entry/exit criteria, UAT processes and KPIs
Preparation of content for and presentation to governance forums and senior stakeholders
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement and management
Experience of working with a combination of Relationship Bankers, Credit Risk, Regulatory Reporting, and Finance teams globally
Working within agile project delivery
Domain Knowledge

Credit Risk framework
Collateral management within a wholesale banking environment (highly desirable)
Regulatory Framework and Basel III accord (desirable)
Understanding of risk management and credit mitigants
Knowledge of the full spectrum of Global Banking & Markets products and services from risk perspective
Overall financial services industry knowledge with specific functional expertise

Influence the project approach, building stakeholder buy-in around the UAT approaches and plans
Manage and plan UAT resources, responsibilities and schedules
Lead and manage quality focused UAT test execution events in alignment with UAT entry/exit criteria, timeline, budgetary and resourcing constraints.
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Measure and report progress, issues, dependencies and risks (as they pertain to UAT) to project or programme leadership and committees as appropriate and make recommendations to influence decision making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation
Highly proactive and able to work independently
Taking ownership of the deliverables and achieving desired outcome within agreed timescales
Excellent communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills
Excellent decision making and problem solving ability
Advanced judgmental skills to identify, record and resolve problems
Experience of working with disparate teams and resources located remotely
Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective
Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
Strong IT skills (including Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc)
