This is a temporary role for an anticipated 2 months. We 're entirely remote, so open to applications from across the globe.

About Status

Status is the gateway to the decentralised web. We 're building the tools and infrastructure for the advancement of a secure, private, and open web3. With the high level goals of preserving the right to privacy, mitigating the risk of censorship, and promoting economic trade in a transparent, open manner, Status is building a community where anyone is welcome to join and contribute. Our focuses areas right now are: user onboarding, developer tooling, token utilities, protocol/infrastructure research and token engineering.

Our core application, currently in beta on Mobile and Desktop, is an open source, Ethereum-based app that gives users the power to chat, make payments and browse the decentralized web.

Who are we?

We 're a remote team of made up of 60+ core-contributors and growing community of members scattered around the globe. We care deeply about open source software, and our organizational structure has minimal hierarchy and fixed work hours. We believe in working with a high degree of autonomy while supporting the organization 's priorities.

The role

We 're looking for someone to smoothen the UI of our core mobile app (Android + iOS). The UI and logic have been implemented so you will be involved in dedicated Frontend UI work, focused on dotting the i 's: margins, padding, colors, icons, touch interactions and state changes. The UI is built up of reused patterns such as list items, where possible we would like to see these implemented as components. Full list available here ( ).

You 'll be involved in:

  • Independently setting up to work with our code base. More info on building Status here ( )and our most relevant repo here ( ).
  • Resolving the issues listed in the spreadsheet ( )according to specification. Issues including specifications will be created on GitHub in batches.
  • Sense checking on any updates in advance of work on each issue.
  • Communication with core contributors to align with code standards and practices (on GitHub).
  • Communication with designers to clarify design specifications.

You should have:

  • Experience working with UI design specifications.
  • Eye for detail; point us to completed implementation work.
  • Strong experience with CSS and CSS Flexbox Layout.
  • Experience with React Native.
  • Experience with Git.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with ClojureScript.
  • Experience with native iOS development.
  • Experience with native Android development.
