PURPOSE OF POSITION

 

In order to deliver the TP programme, GDMS have adopted an Agile Methodology in the form of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe®) and is applying it across the whole system and product development lifecycle. This is as a step change approach from traditional waterfall delivery model designed to enable continuous delivery and validation of solutions, with flexibility to respond to changing customer requirements, foster innovation and promote collaborative working between team and Customer stakeholders based on shared interest, values and goals. 

The role is for a C4 Communications senior systems engineer to support an EvO Systems Modelling team

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This role is for the EvO UK Modelling Team Lead, tasked in establishing:

  • A set of Systems Modelling guidelines and rolling these out across the Systems Design Team. This will include up-skilling the EvO team members in SysML practices, but also in how to undertake a MBSE process which allows for a consistent, baselined system model.
  • A plan for uplifting the current EvO system model to align with the Morpheus system model and to ensure consistency between the artefacts contained in the EvO model
  • A process for artefact review and assessment to ensure all newly created artefacts meet the defined guidelines
  • An EvO system model capable of automatically generating key design documentation

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

 

  • Significant experience in the use of SysML and its application in designing through a MBSE approach
  • Experience of the use of SysML within the PTC Integrity Modeller application
  • Strong Experience in requirements analysis and derivation, through the use of DOORS
  • Experienced with engineering methods and tools for requirements management, architecture definition, design elaboration, verification & validation
  • Familiarity with all aspects of systems delivery including Safety, Security, Human Factors, Training, Support considerations
  • Able to provide leadership within the EvO Modelling Team
  • Proven track record: skills, abilities and domain knowledge sought, as outlined above, backed up by previous job role(s) and relevant experience.
  • Relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or IT discipline or equivalent wide range of relevant experience
