Contract Description

Project Manager - Contract

We are looking for a highly experienced Project Manager with experience of controlling and managing configuration across multiple, large and complex software builds during concurrent test phases of a wider transformation programme.

Working with project managers, build, environment and test teams, you will need to ensure that sufficient rigour and control is applied to the management of code versions and data sets (across cloud and on-premise solutions) at each stage of the life cycle as the programme seeks to prove that different software components being delivered fit together and function properly in combination.

The role requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail and who has the ability to ruthlessly prioritise. You will need to have a pragmatic approach to problem solving, be able to communicate to and influence a wide audience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Defining and maintaining a programme-level configuration management plan and ensuring its effective implementation by all teams

  • Ensuring that configurable assets developed by the project teams (eg code, test datasets, mapping specs, etc.) are managed consistently in accordance with a (to be defined) configuration management process.

  • Building strong productive relationships across the programme and within IT to keep the overall delivery safe during a critical phase and ensuring key stakeholders are aware of what is required when

  • Feeding into programme governance and reporting cycles, including raising and managing risks and issues and providing regular updates to the IT Programme Manager

Our must-haves:

  • Experienced senior (IT/Technical) project manager with significant experience of configuration and release management processes and best practice in this area

  • Experience of large, complex transformation programmes

  • Proven ability to strategically plan, co-ordinate and track concurrent configuration activities across multiple projects and workstreams

  • Experience working across both cloud and on-premise solutions

Our desirables:

  • Experience working in financial services
