Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable IT Support professional to join our team.

The ideal candidate will provide exceptional technical assistance and support for various IT issues at our clients' homes and businesses, ensuring that their systems run smoothly and efficiently.

This role requires a strong understanding of computer hardware, networking, and customer service skills to effectively assist users with their IT needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for IT-related issues, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Repair hardware faults and perform tasks such as replacing laptop screens and keyboards.
• Able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Assist users with computer networking issues, including LAN and VPN connectivity.
• Ensure timely resolution of technical problems while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Perform routine maintenance on computer equipment and assist with the installation of new hardware and software.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to improve processes and enhance service delivery.

Experience

• Proven experience in an IT support role or similar position is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking principles, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
• Experience working unsupervised is preferable.
• Experience with Apple hardware is preferable.
• A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and a willingness to learn new technologies as required.

Please note:

• Candidates must have access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance, as many clients are in rural locations inaccessible by public transport.
• This is a freelance position.
• There are no fixed hours but you must be available for at least 5 hours during the standard working week. Monday - Friday 8:00 - 6:00.
• The stated rate includes all travel costs.
• Would suit student or a semi retired professional looking to top up their income and gain experience in IT.
