Contract Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Quality Lead on a contract basis (INSIDE IR35) to drive the maturity of data quality practices across our client’s enterprise data landscape. The role focuses on establishing robust data quality processes, leading a small team of analysts, and delivering high-quality profiling, rule creation, and remediation activities across critical data domains. You will collaborate with Data Engineers, Architects, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to develop scalable data quality solutions and embed best-practice standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, hands-on experience with data quality tooling and cloud platforms, and the ability to influence and coach data owners and stewards. This role requires a proactive leader committed to improving data integrity, reducing data risk, and enabling the organisation to become more data-driven.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of data management analysts responsible for profiling and monitoring data quality
  • Develop data quality rules, metrics, and dashboards across critical datasets and business domains
  • Work closely with Data Engineers and Architecture teams to implement data quality solutions on enterprise platforms
  • Establish repeatable methodologies for detecting, assessing, and managing data quality issues across the data lifecycle
  • Engage data owners and stewards to design data quality rules that support operational, analytical, and regulatory needs
  • Provide expert guidance on data cleansing approaches such as deduplication, standardisation, and reformatting
  • Support metadata initiatives including traceability, trust scoring, and data quality indicators
  • Produce data quality assessments and benchmarking to help business teams manage data risks and issues
  • Lead investigations into data quality incidents, performing root-cause analysis and recommending remediation actions
  • Drive standardisation of data quality improvement processes across teams and data domains
  • Develop processes for data quality assurance within data-as-a-service or shared data environments
  • Ensure solutions align with governance, change management, and regulatory requirements
  • Support the development of data quality principles, policies, procedures, and technical standards
  • Maintain and evolve the enterprise data quality rule register within relevant DQ tooling
  • Act as technical liaison for onboarding new source systems into data quality monitoring workflows
  • Promote best practices for scalable, well-governed data quality development
  • Provide knowledge transfer and upskilling for developers and analysts in the Data Management team
  • Champion strong data culture by advocating data quality, stewardship, and enterprise data practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring data quality requirements are understood and embedded
  • Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders, ensuring visibility of improvements and issues
