Senior Technical Developer at Ascot Group, Weston-Super-Mare, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

Senior Developer / Technical Consultant (Contract or Part-Time) – Data and CRM

Insight Data is a small, family business providing marketing data and proprietary CRM solutions for the construction and building products industry. Our award-winning platform, Salestracker, powers sales and marketing for hundreds of businesses across the UK, from large manufacturers to ambitious SMEs.

We’re now in the final stages of developing Salestracker 4 - a completely rebuilt, next-generation SaaS platform that combines CRM, data intelligence, and marketing automation in one seamless ecosystem.

Our internal software team has brought the project a long way, and it’s now in testing. But we’re looking for a seasoned senior developer or technical consultant to help us take it over the finish line - ensuring it’s robust, fast, reliable, secure, and a joy to use.

This is a part-time or contract opportunity for someone with deep technical knowledge, strong leadership, and a passion for delivering first-class software. You’ll work directly with our internal dev team to refine, test, and optimise the platform, bringing best-practice insight, hands-on technical expertise, and real-world SaaS experience.

Our Current Stack

Salestracker 3 (current platform):

• CodeIgniter 3 / PHP 8

• MySQL

• SendGrid / Mosaico (STEM email module)

• Apache

• AWS S3 / DataSoap / Google Maps API

• Linode (bare-metal deployment)

Salestracker 4 (new platform):

• NextJS 15 / NodeJS

• PostgreSQL

• Docker (containerised deployment)

• AWS S3 / OpenMapTools / DataSoap

• Linode (container pods)

We’re Looking For

• Proven experience delivering and scaling SaaS or CRM platforms

• Strong understanding of NextJS / NodeJS / Docker / PostgreSQL

• Experience with performance optimisation, testing, and deployment pipelines

• Security-first mindset, with familiarity in data protection and API architecture

• Ability to collaborate with an internal team, guide development priorities, and elevate code quality

• Optional but valuable: experience with PHP-based legacy systems and migration planning

What You’ll Do

• Audit and refine our existing codebase and architecture

• Support testing and performance tuning

• Ensure system stability, scalability, and data integrity

• Help us transition confidently from testing to live deployment

• Provide hands-on support and mentoring for our in-house devs

This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected, fast-growing tech company with real-world impact, working on a live SaaS platform used daily by some of the biggest names in our industry.
