Job Summary:

As the Senior Product Designer for Olivela, you will sit within the Product Management function, reporting to the Head of Product. You will partner closely with stakeholders across the business to help us transition from Headless Shopify to Shopify Themes, maintaining luxury brand experience and key design features. You will be responsible for delivering accessible and meaningful experiences of the highest quality, creating and owning our UX strategy and UI designs across the Olivela digital product. You share our passion for reducing customer friction and creating beautiful and results driven experiences. Your ideas are born out of the need to continuously search for improvements to the product and work with your team to implement them. You should be able to deliver end to end customer journeys, low to high fidelity wireframes, sitemaps and prototypes. You will play an integral role in the capturing of customer insights in various formats, for continuous discovery of opportunities and problems.

Essential Functions:

● Be the UX design thought and executional leader for our team. Communicate effectively to educate others on the art and science of UX design

● Collaborate with the Creative Design team to lead on the implementation of design best practice for digital channels

● Partner to lead UX research and experimentation to inform our Product Roadmap.

● Work closely with Software Engineers and Product Managers to create new features that deliver business goals on conversion, revenue, and profit

● Work with Product, Development, Creative Design and other stakeholders to build and maintain visual guidelines that ensure consistent representation of the brands across the web and email experience

● Conceptualize abstract ideas and transform them into user-friendly features per specific use cases

● Apply human-centered design thinking not only to the visual and interaction design of the products we build, but also leverage your expertise to affect change.

● Have a deep understanding of visual design & UX principles based on performance and an ability to apply learnings through complete wireframes and flowcharts

● Have a strong point of view on design elements and interactions and how it pertains to a better user experience overall

● Create pixel perfect visual designs for hand-off to development teams as well as developing design guidelines in tandem with Creative in order to adhere to best practice and standards.

● Study and gather insights to end-users’ behaviors specific to the shopping experience to enhance engagement and conversion potential.

 

Specialized Skills and Knowledge:

● 3-5 years of industry experience as a user experience designer, product designer, or similar design-related role

● Deep knowledge of the way consumers shop online, with 3-5 years exposure to e-commerce (experience in the Luxury and Retail sector would also be a plus).

● 3-5 years of experience working in direct collaboration with Product leadership, Development Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders

● Experience owning large-scale projects, communicating timelines, and executing independently

● An online portfolio demonstrating samples of design deliverables for digital channels (personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes)

● Experience with designing for Shopify Themes

● Fluency in best practices for information architecture and interaction design, user-centered design process, as well as strong knowledge of user experience principles and techniques

● Understands Atomic design or similar

● Experienced in owning and improving design systems for web in Figma

● Interested in developing UI/UX design principles aligned with new tools and advances in component design

● Demonstrated history of acquiring customer data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing customer research) and creating personas and journey maps
