We are seeking a London-based freelance IT consultant with hands-on experience in live streaming technology and virtual event support, particularly with Epiphan Pearl or similar streaming hardware. This is a part-time, on-call role supporting a high-performing team that runs complex virtual events for institutional clients across global markets.
Our internal team handles daily operations but requires a tech-savvy consultant to help us optimize and troubleshoot advanced broadcast setups, assist with streaming gear configuration, and provide creative solutions for multi-source AV routing, encoding, and broadcast reliability.
Responsibilities include:
- Configure, test, and troubleshoot Epiphan Pearl and other live streaming gear
- Set up and optimize virtual broadcast workflows, including complex input/output routing
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software issues related to video, audio, and network
- Offer creative, scalable solutions to recurring AV or streaming challenges
- Support remote teams with hardware setup and training as needed
- Assist with inventory recommendations and workspace upgrades
- Occasionally liaise with our office space provider (WeWork) to address network configuration needs
Requirements:
- Based in London, available for on-site work as needed
- Proven experience with live streaming hardware (e.g., Epiphan Pearl, Blackmagic, Magewell, etc.)
- Strong understanding of AV routing, encoding, and broadcast setups
- Experience supporting virtual events, especially with multiple media inputs
- Proficient in general IT support and troubleshooting (networking, devices, software)
- Solutions-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Bonus if you have:
- Experience working with remote production teams
- Familiarity with Zoom, OBS, vMix, or similar virtual event platforms
- AV certification or streaming credentials a plus
Engagement Details:
- Freelance / Part-time
- Hybrid: Remote + Occasional in-person support in our London office (WeWork)
- Initial project-based scope with potential for ongoing support
If you’re a resourceful AV/IT pro who thrives on solving real-time streaming challenges, we’d love to hear from you!
