Freelance Technical SEO Specialist

Leeds, hybrid working, YOU MUST BE ABLE TO 2 days per week onsite in our Leeds office

2 to 3 month contract • 3 days per week • £250 to £300 per day

We’re looking for an experienced Technical SEO specialist to join Ponderosa on a freelance basis to support the delivery of technical SEO projects across a range of clients.

You’ll work closely with our Head of SEO and the wider Digital team to audit, optimise and enhance client websites, helping to improve site performance, indexability and organic visibility.

What you’ll do

• Conduct detailed technical SEO audits and identify opportunities for optimisation

• Support the implementation of recommendations to improve site speed, crawlability and search performance

• Advise on technical aspects of site migrations, redirects and structural changes

• Collaborate with developers, content teams and account managers to ensure SEO best practice is applied

• Use tools such as Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush and Google Search Console to monitor and report on performance

What we’re looking for

• Proven experience in a technical SEO role, ideally within an agency environment

• Strong understanding of site architecture, Core Web Vitals, schema, crawling and indexing

• Ability to translate complex technical recommendations into clear, actionable steps

• Confident using leading SEO tools and interpreting data

• Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple client projects
