Technical Business Analyst at UK Research & Innovation, Swindon/Remote, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

Contract Description

Technical BA for the Living on the Web (LotW) project (including Windows 11 upgrade).

 

The Technical BA will gather and catalogue business requirements for several internal IT focused workstreams, including:

  • End User Device Pilot
  • Collaboration Software rationalization
  • Operating Model redesign

 

Role scope includes:

  • Requirements Gathering and tracking
  • Operating model design input
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Workshopping

 

As a Technical Business Analyst your main responsibilities will be:

  • Understanding business and technical requirements, working closely with the business and technical representatives.
  • Analysing data from multiple sources to define approaches and "to be " solutions with agreement of the key stakeholders.
  • Presenting data and findings in a clear and concise manner using the most appropriate methods.
  • Documenting requirements, processes and technical solutions to project standards.
  • Organisational change modelling experience.
  • Organising meetings, workshops and maintaining suitable records.
  • Working with business and technical SMEs in the discovery and development of the "as is and "to be " solutions.
  • Working with business stakeholders and communications teams to support the business readiness and organisational change activities.

 

Background:

  • While public sector experience is useful it is by no means mandatory and the experiences below are the most important aspect of the role.

 

Essential experience and skills:

  • Extensive experience in IT and organisational transformation activities.
  • Extensive experience in analysis of large data collections from different sources and stakeholders and consolidating into meaningful outputs to drive decisions.
  • Experience working with internal IT SMEs and external IT Suppliers to gather and synthesize complex sets of technical requirements.
  • The successful candidate will be working on a project which is rather abstract in nature so the Business Analyst needs to be able to communicate clearly, confidently, and with impact. They need to simplify complex ideas, adapting their language to suit different audiences, and ensuring everyone is aligned.
  • You will also need to actively manage discussions, guide conversations, and help steer meetings toward productive outcomes.
