Job Title: Software Procurement Advisor

Job Location: Sunbury-on-Thames (Hybrid, 3 days a week in office / 2 days from home)

Contract Length: Until 31st December 2025 (Possibility of extension)

Industry: Oil and Energy, Procurement

Working Hours: 7 per day/ 35 per week

 

Role Overview:

Join bp's procurement team and help drive innovation and transformation in our software category. We are looking for a dynamic individual with around 8 years of experience in commercial or procurement roles to lead the charge in making bp a leader in digital and talent supply chains.

 

What you will do:

  • End to end software category management, including:
  • Commercial lead on major investment programs
  • Programmatic management of contract renewal cycles
  • Software licensing and audit activity
  • ERP (inc SAP) expertise would be ideal.

 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Create and execute a category strategy that aligns with bp’s goals.
  • Identify and pursue high-value opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the software asset management team to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Implement a digital-first approach to the P2P process for software using Ariba.

 

What you will have:

  • Understanding of the software supply market and the ability to absorb and utilize market intelligence.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience working across different cultures and in international settings.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Agile teams and approaches.
  • Experience with Ariba and ServiceNow.
  • Experience in category strategy development and execution.
