Phase 1: Kick-off Sprint

Time Commitment: 100 % focus for 1‑2 weeks

Deliverables: End‑to‑end product audit, high‑fidelity UI kit & design system foundations

Phase 2: Ongoing Retainer

Time Commitment: ≈ 25 % time (1‑2 days/week)

Deliverables: Iterative design for new features, mobile expansion, design‑system stewardship & strategic UX guidance

We’re looking for an external consultant—an independent professional comfortable running their own schedule, tooling, and taxes—who thrives on deep, long‑term product collaboration.

• Strategic Product Design – Own the end‑user experience across our existing web app and forthcoming mobile apps, ensuring a coherent multi‑platform journey. 
• Information Architecture – Craft logical and efficient information architectures and user flows for navigating vast amounts of art data.
• Visual Excellence – Uphold and evolve our brand's premium aesthetic with meticulous attention to detail.
• User Research & Validation – Lead interviews, usability testing, and rapid iteration to keep the art market’s unique personas at the centre.
• Design System Leadership – Establish and evolve a scalable design system that balances premium aesthetics with development efficiency.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration – Partner closely with our lean product & engineering teams, translating insight into shippable design assets.

• 7 + years in UI/UX, including data‑rich or search‑heavy web apps, plus demonstrable mobile design chops.
• A portfolio that shows you simplifying complexity—especially dashboards, analytics, or marketplace products.
• Proficiency with industry‑standard design tools—Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD (or similar)—plus robust skills in modern prototyping and developer‑handoff workflows.
• Solid command of qualitative & quantitative research methods.
• Polished visual design sensibility and respect for detail.
• Excellent communication skills – Able to articulate design decisions clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. 

Bonus points for:

• Experience with AI‑powered or FinTech/Market‑data products.
• Building or governing design systems.
• Genuine passion for art, culture, or creative industries.
