UX Design Contractor – up to £400 Day Rate Outside IR35 3-Month Contract (Immediate Start)

We’re currently looking for a talented UX Design Contractor to support our UX team in delivering user-centred, engaging designs across our award-winning digital platforms.

This is a day rate contract opportunity for an initial 3-month term, with the potential to extend. The role is outside of IR35 and we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running – immediate availability is preferred.

About the Role

You’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into intuitive, delightful digital experiences. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Leading design projects from discovery through to implementation

  • Creating wireframes and interactive prototypes to communicate design ideas and test concepts

  • Collaborating with developers to ensure design intent is implemented accurately and efficiently

  • Managing iterative design cycles, using data and user feedback to refine solutions

  • Contributing to and maintaining design systems and component libraries

  • Conducting user research and usability testing to inform design decisions

  • Working within multi-disciplinary teams, including developers, content strategists, and marketers

  • Engaging stakeholders and communicating design rationale clearly

  • Championing UX across the business, proactively finding ways to share our work and thinking (e.g. blog posts, workshops)

  • Supporting junior team members and offering guidance where needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in UX design roles

  • Strong prototyping and design skills using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, etc.

  • Deep understanding of user-centred design principles

  • A good eye for visual design and attention to detail

  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards

  • Awareness of current UX/UI trends

  • Creative, curious, and always keen to learn

  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
