Data Architect at Valcon Group UK, London, 3-6 Months, £Contract Rate

We're looking for an experienced Data Architect to join an exciting transformation programme with a well-established organisation. You'll play a key role in shaping, designing, and delivering scalable data architecture solutions across cloud and on-premise platforms.

This is a hybrid contract role, with 3 days/week onsite in London, and will suit someone confident working with both technical and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement end-to-end data architecture solutions across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sets

• Lead data modelling, data governance, and data quality strategies

• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions

• Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and business teams to ensure data availability and usability

• Ensure architecture aligns with cloud best practices and compliance standards

• Support data migration and modernisation initiatives across cloud platforms

Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Data Architect in complex enterprise environments

• Strong understanding of data modelling (relational and dimensional)

• Expertise in cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)

• Hands-on knowledge of tools like Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or BigQuery

• Solid grounding in ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, and Real Time data processing

• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools (eg Collibra, Informatica)

• Strong SQL skills and working knowledge of Scripting languages (Python preferred)

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
