Job Description

HMRC is looking to migrate and transform it’s existing ETMP application (SAP TRM & PSCD running on ECC6.0 in Azure as IaaS) to S/4HANA running in an SAP PCE environment in AWS (Sovereign Cloud) and adopt and utilise SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

Solution Architects are needed to work alongside Enterprise Architecture, HMRC Security Architects, SAP Practice, the Chief Architect, the ETMP Transformation Programme team and external suppliers to help coordinate the right level of resource and expertise throughout the programme lifecycle so that solution designs, where required, across multiple workstreams are created in line with HMRC future strategic vision and to programme timelines.

Responsibilities

  1. Creation of a range of SDDs to support the overall Programme SDD:
    1. To better articulate the main elements of the target solution with SDDs covering Tech conversion, Network Design, Integration, Identity and access management, security, target architecture, tooling, data management, Infrastructure & hosting, BTP exploitation, Migration, SAP BW, ECC6 Decommissioning.
    2. To present a view of the sequence and priority of implementation steps
    3. To facilitate a conversation with CET in order to obtain costs to include in and help the development of, the Programme Business Case
  2. Bring knowledge and expertise to the HMRC Solution Architecture role and associated processes to the programme to ensure successful navigation of said processes and controls in a timely and efficient fashion
  3. Help in the maturation of the programme from a Solution Architecture perspective

Skills and knowledge required

  • Experience with providing Solution Architect support to major government programmes
  • Knowledge and experience of SAP systems and processes, in particular S/4HANA, BTP and associated software capabilities would be an advantage
