Job Purpose:
To rationalise differing methods TMHCC have in relation to Business Continuity / Crisis Management and make recommendations to improve existing procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Continuity:
- Benchmark current capability across all areas of Business Continuity and develop 12-18 month Roadmap to improve capability to be in line with industry peers.
- Separate complex improvement areas that will be within scope of engagement and less complex improvements that can be handed to the business to develop in accordance with the Roadmap. These areas will include the following:
- Business Impact Analysis:
- Determination of MTPDs/RTOs/RPOs
- Identification of resources (including Key People)
- BCP Testing:
- Desktop methodologies and testing of tools needed to recover.
- Testing of communication tools and recovery tools.
- Review ability of key services to recover in event of operational disruption: To include Critical Services and other deemed material by the business
- Review BCP/DR Standards for third party vendors:
- Review existing BCP standards when on-boarding and renewing UK and European third party contracts.
- Create checklist linked to materiality for Procurement to follow for immaterial external vendors.
- Review Exit Strategy documents and processes and assess adequacy.
- Make changes to Exit Strategy documents in light of changes to Crisis Management approach, if applicable.
- Review all TMHCCI governance forums and structures that concern operational disruption with a view to developing synergies and reducing duplication. Some examples:
- Business Continuity Committee
- Disaster Recovery Committee
- Health and Safety Committee
Crisis Management:
- Review existing Crisis Management approaches and make recommendations on best practice:
- Develop single Crisis Management approach with TMHCCI exec (including TME) and socialise this with Houston exec on informed basis.
- Review Crisis Management provision in existing policies and propose a single Crisis Management Committee to replace existing provisions.
- Agree Crisis Management Members and responsibilities.
- Agree roles for other key stakeholders in the event of a crisis.
- Review Crisis Management Tools and assess adequacy of these in light of different failure vectors (e.g. Total IT Failure). Make recommendations in the event of capability gaps.
- Rationalise existing BCP/Crisis Communication policies and procedures into one policy and one procedure document for TMHCCI. Make recommendations how this can fit within TMHCC procedures.
- Agree escalation and internal communication thresholds:
- Employee Communications
- Board Sign-off
- Escalation to US and Japan parent companies
- Regulatory Disclosures (All UK/European Authorities)
- Communications with Technical Teams
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
- Extensive Business Continuity and Crisis Management experience
- Extensive Senior Stakeholder management experience.
