Job description

PMA is a representative body of the non-clinical sector with a membership network of over 50,000 members across the sector. PMA acts to attract, recruit, retain and progress learners within the non-clinical sector through offering comprehensive career enhancing training and development.

We offer a range of highly contextualised accredited learning programmes including Apprenticeship standards from Level 2 to Level 7 and offer subject specific workshops, e-learning and ILM accredited Leadership and Management courses.

We are on the Register of Apprenticeship training providers (RoATP) and have an ESFA contract.

We are committed to being a Grade 1 Ofsted Outstanding training provider in 3 years and we want talented and committed people to join us on that journey. We are currently a Grade 2 Good Ofsted inspected training provider (June 22).

Job Purpose

To develop and deliver high quality teaching and learning on Apprenticeship Standards within the range of own occupational competence and to support the PMA being Passionate about People through getting to know the intricacies of the non-clinical sector that we serve. To support a caseload of learners and develop contextualised resources and deliver on our Business administration, Team leading and Operations manager Apprenticeship standards.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To manage and deliver Apprenticeship Standards to a caseload of up to 50 learners and to ensure that this caseload complies with the following:

  • Past Planned End Date (PPED) (this should not exceed 2% of the caseload)
  • Expected completions (a minimum of 98% of the caseload to achieve)
  • % on track learners (not below 98%)
  • T and L sessions occur a minimum of every 4 weeks following the PMA Deliver to Distinction strategy
  • Progress Reviews occur monthly
  • Highly effective Tripartite reviews are completed every 10 -12 weeks

2. To maintain accurate and up to date records of training, planning, registration, assessment, certification and observations of practice, in line with Ofsted, Awarding Organisation and ESFA guidelines.

3. To ensure the consistently high quality of provision and the quality of the learners’ experience is not compromised.

4. Contribute to Standardisation and Quality Improvement meetings as required.

5. To maintain continuous professional development to ensure an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of new developments and Awarding Organisation requirements is maintained.

6. To contribute and manage own development in all aspects of continuous quality improvement, Awarding Organisation, Ofsted and business requirements, including the usage of the centre’s e-portfolio system as a management information tool.

7. To follow, and implement, the centre’s Learner Progression and Activity, Learning Support and Functional Skills Policy and Procedures, including planning appropriate monthly sessions and providing ongoing advice and guidance to learners and employers in order to support the centre to meet its minimum timely qualification achievement rates.

8. Work to challenging and improving performance standards to maintain standards of best practice.

9. Promote genuine equality and diversity in all aspects of curriculum delivery and service delivery.

10. Take responsibility for the health, safety and safeguarding activities applicable to the post as set out in the company’s policy statements.

11. Undertake any other duties consistent with the basic objectives of the post.

All employees are also expected to actively participate in performance reviews, the identification of their own training needs and attendance at any appropriate training events.

Essential criteria

  • GCSE English (or FS equiv)
  • GCSE maths (or FS equiv) or willingness to work towards
  • Qualifications related to Business administration/Business analyst/Digital transformation
  • Assessor award (or willingness to work towards)
  • Knowledge of Apprenticeship standards and end point assessment
  • Experience in delivering Apprenticeship standards (or willingness to shadow and be mentored by an experienced Tutor)

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in a non-clinical Health & Care setting
  • Teaching Qualification – Cert Ed/PGCE
  • IQA qual
