GCP/Azure Governance Migration Architect at Konvergent Ltd, London, 6 Months, £Contract Rate

We are seeking an experienced GCP/Azure Governance Architect to play a critical role in our large-scale cloud migration initiative. This position will be instrumental in establishing and implementing governance frameworks across both Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure as we transition over 300 applications to these platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive governance frameworks for GCP and Azure environments
• Design and document cloud architecture patterns that align with organizational policies and industry standards
• Create and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans for cloud-based applications and services
• Lead the development of cloud policies, standards, and procedures to ensure consistent implementation
• Collaborate with application teams to ensure cloud adoption adheres to established governance principles
• Assess and mitigate risks associated with cloud infrastructure and resource management
• Drive automation of governance controls and compliance monitoring
• Stay current with GCP and Azure platform updates, features, and best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in cloud architecture, with specific expertise in GCP and Azure governance
• Demonstrated experience implementing cloud governance at enterprise scale
• Strong understanding of industry compliance frameworks (eg, ISO, SOC, HIPAA, PCI DSS) as applied to cloud environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Cloud Deployment Manager
• Knowledge of cloud security principles and implementation of security controls
• Proficiency in cloud cost optimization strategies and implementation
• Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to various stakeholders
• Experience with large-scale cloud migrations and multi-cloud environments
