Cloud and Data Architect for Azure and Microsoft Fabric

AZURE CLOUD AND FABRIC ARCHITECT

ROLE The Azure Cloud and Data Architect is responsible for spearheading the design and setup of a cutting-edge data platform using Microsoft Azure Cloud products and services, with an emphasis on the latest tools within Microsoft Fabric. Experience working with advanced cloud technologies and an eye for precision in data architecture are critical elements for this role.

The Azure Cloud and Data Architect is required to work with consultants and Client Teams. This position reports to the Managing Director and will receive direction from our client's Data + AI Lead Consultant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops and implements cloud and data strategies that align with Digimasters business goals, leveraging Microsoft Fabric and Azure’s full stack of cloud services
  • Designs scalable, resilient, and secure cloud-based data solutions, enabling analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence capabilities
  • Designs and implements a comprehensive data platform harnessing the capabilities of the Microsoft Fabric platform
  • Focuses on developing solutions with One Lake and Lake houses, applying the medallion methodology of bronze, silver, and gold-level data to ensure data accuracy and accessibility
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams, including data modelers, data engineers, PowerBI experts, and data governance professionals, to deliver best-in-class data solutions
  • Optimizes data architecture ensuring scalability, security, and performance in a hybrid cloud environment
  • Provides expert advice and guidance on leveraging Microsoft Azure tools to enhance data capabilities ·      Provides mentorship to data engineers, architects, and cloud professionals within the ecosystem ·      Works with Digimasters' Data + AI Lead Consultant to establish best practices for cloud governance, data security, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) ·      Works with Digimasters' Data + AI Lead Consultant to secure data solutions that meet performance, scalability, and maintainability standards

EXPECTATIONS IN THE ROLE The following skills and proficiency levels are essential for the position:

·      Extensive Experience with Microsoft Azure: 7-10 years of hands-on experience in cloud and data architecture, particularly utilizing Microsoft Azure's range of products and services ·      Expertise in Microsoft Fabric: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Fabric platform for data solutions, with a firm grasp of its components like One Lake and Lake houses ·      Medallion Architecture Proficiency: Strong familiarity with the medallion methodology, specifically the transformation of data across bronze, silver, and gold levels, ensuring accuracy and accessibility ·      Collaborative Teamwork Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work successfully within multidisciplinary teams involving data modelers, engineers, PowerBI professionals, and data governance experts ·      Data Architecture Optimization: Proven track record of optimizing data architecture in a hybrid cloud setting, with an emphasis on achieving scalability, security, and high performance ·      Innovative Problem-Solving: A proactive mindset with a readiness to engage in complex data challenges and deliver innovative solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in cloud and data architecture, specializing in Microsoft Azure-based solutions
  • Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer Associate are highly desirable
  • Deep understanding of Azure cloud services, including Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, and PowerBI
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric, One Lake, Lake houses, and medallion architecture practices
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and integration best practices
  • Experience in AI, machine learning models, and data-driven decision-making frameworks
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a readiness to delve into complex data challenges
  • Ability to work collaboratively in dynamic, multidisciplinary teams
