Platform Engineer - GCP GKE BigQuery Terraform remote £600-£650 per day outside ir35

Who You Are:

• Passionate about solving real-world problems and delivering value to end-users.

• Comfortable working autonomously in a small, cross-functional team.

• Able to contribute effectively to product decisions and work across multiple teams.

• Focused on business results with a commercial mindset and ability to make trade-offs.

• Strong team leadership skills, able to guide teams through influence.

• Experienced in building greenfield products for new industries.

• Background in startups or large corporations (both are a bonus!).

What You'll Do:

You'll leverage your expertise to drive forward key technical initiatives:

• Build infrastructure and tooling to support application development on GCP, particularly with GKE and BigQuery.

• Utilize GitOps to manage clusters and applications with Helm and FluxCD.

• Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform.

• Set up and manage application deployment pipelines with Github Actions.

• Monitor and support platform health with tools like Google Cloud Monitoring and Prometheus.

• Advise on and implement security best practices.

• Review code through Github pull requests and provide feedback.

• Assist the product owner in prioritising work and estimating effort.

• Balance shipping new features with managing technical debt.
