Digital Skills Tutor (Freelance) at Women's Wellbeing, Birmingham, £20 per hour

Contract Description

As a Digital Skills Tutor, you’ll use your skills and insight to empower individuals to access digital tools, develop essential digital skills (such as using the NHS App), source reliable health information, and engage with platforms like Learn My Way. You’ll also support the facilitation of our Digital Bank and other vital resources to small groups to support & develop their progression. You will deliver the program face-to-face, ensuring it is effective and engaging training. You will aim to engage individuals in digital literacy to promote employability. This is a truly rewarding and exciting role where you’ll play a key part in helping people improve their lives, mental health, and wellbeing through digital inclusion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver digital skills to meet each learner’s needs at their level.
  • Teach learners how to protect their personal information, recognise online threats, and use safe practices while navigating the internet.
  • Create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Plan activities to ensure a collaborative learning environment.
  • Develop & review each learner’s progress based on their goals.
  • Collating learner feedback, evaluation, and monitoring requirements.
  • Helping learners Utilise tools like Linked In, Indeed, Google for Jobs and GOV.UK to help source employment
  • Introducing learners use ChatGPT and Gen- AI tools to help access job search resources and improve their employability.
  • Assist learners new to learning, and who may not speak English as their first language, to broaden their learning opportunities.
  • Work with diverse communities and demonstrate cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

  • Recognised teaching or training qualification at level 3 or 4 (Award in Education and Training or Diploma/Certificate in Education).
  • Industry-recognised qualification or experience.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in the computing industry as a tutor.
  • Experience of using a range of IT packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc).
  • Experience of working with learners who may have limited digital skills or English as a second language.
  • Desirable: Access to a car with a full UK driving licence.
