We are seeking an experienced Middle Office Business Analyst with a strong background in structured products, trade lifecycle processes, and automation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in understanding how structured products are built, their trade processes, and the operational workflows from execution to post-trade reporting.

The role:

  • Identify inefficiencies in the current middle-office processes and define automation solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Provide detailed analysis on how structured products are built, executed, and processed across their lifecycle.

  • Map out and document existing trade workflows, ensuring full coverage from trade execution to T+1/T+2 post-trade reporting.

  • Develop clear, phased implementation plans transitioning from the current state to a fully optimised target state, ensuring seamless migration between short, medium, and long-term goals.

  • Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, including Quants, Front Office (FO), Traders, Compliance, Legal, and Finance, to ensure alignment on automation initiatives.

  • Ensure that process automation aligns with regulatory requirements, risk controls, and industry best practices.

  • Work closely with technology teams to integrate automation tools, ensuring compatibility with existing trading platforms and reporting systems.

  • Ensure end-to-end trade data integrity, ensuring all key data points are captured and reconciled accurately for T+1/T+2 regulatory and financial reporting.

  • Support change management efforts, including UAT testing, training, and roll-out of automation solutions.

Key Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a Middle Office Business Analyst role, preferably within an investment bank, hedge fund, or asset management firm.

  • Deep knowledge of structured products, including how they are structured, traded, and processed.

  • Strong understanding of trade lifecycle management, from execution to post-trade settlement and reporting.

  • Experience with process automation and workflow optimization, preferably leveraging tools like Alteryx, Python, or RPA solutions.

  • Proficiency in working with stakeholders across Quants, Front Office, Traders, Compliance, Legal, and Finance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for process inefficiencies and automation opportunities.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively document and present findings.

  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with trading platforms, market data systems, and post-trade reconciliation tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with technology teams on system integration projects.

  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., MiFID, EMIR, Dodd-Frank).

  • Understanding of risk management principles and controls.

  • Hands-on experience with business process modeling (e.g., BPMN, Visio) and SQL for data analysis.
