Technical Architect / 6 month contract / Day rate negotiable / Hybrid

 

We have exciting opportunity for an immediately available Technical Architect to join us on an initial 6 month contract with hybrid working where you must be willing to travel to our Reading office 2 days per week with Wednesday being the core day an the secondary day being either a Tuesday or a Thursday.

 

You will join our Infrastructure Design team, reporting to the Tech Architecture Practice Lead, acting as a Technical Architect dedicated to Primark’s EPOS program.

 

This Interim role will support Primark’s Technology Architecture Practice team in providing architectural governance and design ownership for implementation of two new POS solutions that Primark will be deploying.

 

The Infrastructure Architects are the key point of contact for all ICT projects requiring engagement around platform and virtualisation designs or changes. You will work closely with security teams, solution and enterprise architects, to provide expertise and input into Primark’s POS program inputting into the Solution Blueprint and the Low Level Infrastructure design from concept to delivery. You will design, review and provide architectural governance to ensure that from an Infrastructure viewpoint that Primark’s POS solutions are fit for purpose for Primark.

 

Your top tasks

  • Create high and low-level technical documentation to support project delivery ( Technology Components captured in the Primark Solution Blueprint and Low Level Infrastructure design documents )
  • Main point of contact for the EPOS program for Platform architecture.
  • Work closely with and be guided by the Lead Architects in the following areas to provide Technical Design assurance and architectural governance for the EPOS program; covering the following area’s
  1. Networking; LAN & WAN
  2. POS Device / Till Setup and management
  3. Access, Identity and Security controls
  4. connectivity of SaaS platforms such as Azure & GCP
  5. Integration patterns / connectivity for transfer for data between applications

 

Need to haves

  • Exposure to business critical, high availability solution design and deployment
  • Understanding, at a design level, of requirements for core supporting Infrastructure technologies, i.e. networking, storage, identity management, security, etc.
  • Proven track record of infrastructure design and delivery
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to all stakeholders
  • Demonstrable Technical Knowledge in the following areas :

Azure Networking. Google Cloud Platform ( GCP )

Microsoft Intune

Windows 10 IOT / SUSE Linux

Azure App Registration and Single Sign on

Azure integration Services

 

Preferred haves

  • Knowledge of Flooid and or GK POS Solutions
  • Relevant Professional Qualifications (MCSE, etc)
  • TOGAF or equivalent
  • Excellent communicator, effective problem solver and decision maker
  • Pro-active, Energetic, inquisitive and positive
  • Ability to operate and deliver within a highly pressurised and fast paced environment

 

The Tech/Infrastructure Architect best suited for this role will have proven Technical Knowledge in the following areas : Azure Networking. Google Cloud Platform ( GCP )

Microsoft Intune, Windows 10 IOT / SUSE Linux, Azure App Registration and Single Sign on

Azure integration Services
