Overview of the role:
This role is Hybrid, our customer is based in Newcastle. It’s important for this person to be within travelling distance of our customers office as will be required to be on site 2 -3 days per week to start and then tailor off as we mature the demand process. It is essential to have extensive experience with Azure DevOps to manage our customers’ requirements. Along with strong analytical skills.
Purpose
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
Main Duties
Leads medium-size Projects (up to 50 people) consisting of multiple Projects/Products.
Takes financial and contractual responsibility for the whole project scope, manages cross-functional dependencies within the project
Defines Project governance & reporting structure that proactively identifies Risks and challenges
Reads, understands and negotiates contract with other parties
Defines clear Roles & Responsibilities for its own team and with other parties
Coordinates cross-discipline team members to make sure that all parties are on track with project requirements, deadlines, and schedules
Constantly works on a buy-in and alignment among stakeholders, still able/willing to take responsibility and make its own decisions when necessary
Oversees Resource allocation/management process
Oversees Project-related procurement process
Acts as an escalation point towards higher Programme/Line management
Meets with project team members to identify and resolve issues
Oversees project deliverables and ensures that they adhere to quality standards
Prepares status reports by gathering, analysing, and summarizing relevant information
Establishes effective project communication plans and ensures their execution
Facilitates change requests to ensure that all parties are informed of the impacts on schedule and budget
Together with higher Programme/Line management decides on Scope, Budget and Schedule changes triggered through a Change management process
Coordinates development of user manuals, training materials, and other documents as needed to enable successful implementation and handover of deliverables to clients
Identifies and develops new opportunities with clients
Obtains customer acceptance of project deliverables
Manages customer satisfaction regarding project deliverables
Conducts post-project Lessons Learnt process, identifies successful and unsuccessful project elements and share the findings with all key stakeholders
Extensive experience of Azure DevOps to manage customer requirements
Preferred qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree or master's degree in a related field, or, instead, 4 years of proven experience in leading smaller projects (5-10 people)Proven experience in leading smaller IT and/or Business process projects (5-10 people): minimum 4 years for University graduates, minimum 8 years for the candidates with a high-school diploma
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus, while Certified Associate in PM (CAPM), or Prince2 Practitioner, or a comparable level PM-certification is a must
Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies
Solid understanding of Project Management Financials and basic understanding of Business Financials (e.g. P&L reports)
