WordPress Developer at Heuvel, Remote, £Contract Rate

Duration not stated

Contract Description

We’re a small, independently owned digital design agency and we are on the lookout for a confident, motivated and committed individual looking to grow their experience in the digital sector. The role will start in early 2025 on a contract basis with the intention of increasing the capacity as time and experience in the role progresses. This flexible role will rely on an individual who can manage both time and workload both professionally and personally from the comfort of their home. The role is an ideal fit for someone looking to step down from a larger agency or move up from a freelance/contract basis.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a talented web designer to join the team that wants to push the boundaries of technology and grow though each project delivered. You must be eager to learn new skills in the digital sector and grow your existing knowledge. As a small agency, we need someone who is proficient in communication, both verbally and electronically that can quickly adapt depending on the client and the project at hand. We are looking for an individual that is driven and motivated to grow - the foundation we set out now will help develop the agency and agency capacity as time progresses.

Who we are

We specialise in creating websites for a collection of businesses predominantly in the hospitality sector. As a small studio, we rely on fostering great relationships with clients and develop in an agile way to ensure the right outcome is achieved. Projects vary from 6 - 30 weeks with varying levels of complexity and functions. We build websites on the WordPress platform with tools like Elementor and Advanced Custom Fields. Our work is quality over quantity driven and we are committed to providing outstanding customer support and ongoing services to complement our customers.

So what would your day look like?

We are a work from home agency and as a small team, we rely on communication via Slack, Project Management Systems and email. Your day would start with a catch up call and a pre defined list of tasks spanning multiple projects. This could include creating new websites, identifying and fixing bugs, patching updates and developing on older websites. As a flexible worker you would be in charge or running your own rota and balancing personal and work life to suit. The role is perfect for some looking to increase their contract/freelance capacity or step back from the 9-5.

What we want to see

For all being from an agency background isn’t a requirement, working in and around WordPress is. We would like to see proficiency in WordPress, whether through education, self taught or in a current work capacity. We would like to see experience in self time management and organisational skills along with efficient communication.

Added bonus

Experience in Elementor, ACF and any server side experience would be a real benefit. Equally the ability to demonstrate solo development projects would be help elevate the application along with any experience from a design perspective.
