What does a Freelance UX Research Assistant do at Busuu?

• Supports in defining, planning and conducting research that informs decisions across the business.
• Utilises both quantitative and qualitative research methods, such as analytics, usability testing, interviews, surveys, and diary studies, to gain a comprehensive understanding of user needs and challenges.
• Manages and supports research initiatives across various teams, including Education, Product, Design, Marketing, and B2B, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Champions the learner’s perspective by integrating user experience with learning experience, ensuring that all research efforts contribute to a better understanding of our learners.
• Writes and summarises research findings clearly and effectively, making complex data accessible to all audiences.

What we’re looking for in a Freelance UX Research Assistant

• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in UX Research or a related field, with a strong foundation in both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
• A master’s degree in social science, computer science, applied linguistics, or a related discipline in UX Research is preferred.
• Experience with tools such as Amplitude, Survey Monkey and Tableau is an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to formulate creative, meaningful, and impactful research questions that drive business decisions.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present and advocate for research findings across various teams and levels of the organisation.
• Proficiency in Excel, with experience in SQL and Python being a bonus.

What are the terms and expectations of this freelance role?

• Temporary position (6 months) based on 32 hours per week, focused specifically on conducting and developing research with the option for extension/renewal as needed by the project
• Remote position
