Job Purpose
The role of the trainer is to teach, guide and support the development and progression of participants on our apprenticeship programmes nationally. To support the delivery of the required curriculum via online delivery, face to face and delivering effective and engaging training.
You will be required to assess learner portfolios and present completed portfolios for internal verification. You will monitor learner's progress towards their qualification and follow the assessment cycle, give them constructive feedback, helping them to build a portfolio of evidence. You will also maintain effective employer relationships, ensuring they are involved n the planning and delivery of learning and participate in timely progress reviews.
Performance will be measured against a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) covering retention, progress, timely reviews, successful completion and progressions.
Sector and Qualifications
As part of our plans to further grow the business, we require a talented professional to deliver our apprenticeship programmes. The successful applicant will manage a caseload of learners in the following subject areas;
- L3 Data Technician
- L3 Data Analyst
Role and Responsibilities
Assessment and Tutoring:
- Deliver engaging, high-quality training sessions (online or face-to-face) tailored to the learners’ needs and aligned with apprenticeship standards.
- To establish good relationships with learners assigned to you, ensuring they are clear about the tasks they have been set and deadlines to meet.
- To follow our set schemes of work and learner journeys for each qualification.
- To be pro-active in communicating with learners on a monthly basis and with their workplace managers ensuring all are kept informed of progress.
- Conduct one-to-one progress reviews and skills assessments with learners to monitor their development and address individual learning goals.
- To respond to all learners within a 24 - 48 hours.
- Guide apprentices to complete portfolios, projects, and other evidence required for successful End-Point Assessment (EPA).
- Provide constructive feedback to support learners' growth, ensuring all work meets the required standards and in keeping with our policies and procedures.
- To actively engage with the employer throughout the process encouraging their input.
- Value the importance of Maths, English and ICT skills in the learners’ future economic and social well-being
Compliance and documentation:
- Ensure all learner progress and outcomes are accurately recorded and reported in line with internal policies and awarding body requirements.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records of learner activity and progress using e-portfolio systems.
- Stay updated with changes in apprenticeship standards and sector-specific trends.
Mentorship and support:
- Offer pastoral care and advice to help learners overcome challenges and maintain motivation.
- Inspire, motivate and raise learners’ aspirations through their passion for the sector.
- Support learners with additional needs, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in delivery.
- Collaborate with employers to ensure training aligns with workplace requirements and learner progress meets business goals.
- Ensure equal opportunity practice and anti-discriminatory practice is fully addressed
Quality assurance and continuous improvement:
- Follow our set quality assurance policies and processes.
- Participate in standardisation meetings and quality assurance processes to maintain delivery excellence.
- Implement feedback from internal and external quality audits to improve delivery.
- Operate at all times to ethical and legal standards and within professional boundaries
- To maintain occupational competence in the area of assessment
- To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and promote the work of the company in supporting management decisions and filtering them down.
- Uphold the organisations standards and policies for Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Prevent.
- Other duties as required in accordance with business needs and demands to support as required.
Essential Criteria
All applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK and have the ability to pass an enhanced DBS check.
Qualifications:
- Assessor qualified, A1, TAQA, CAVA, or D32, D33
- Recognised teaching or training qualification at level 3 or above, which could include any of the following: Level 3 or 4 Award in Education and Training or Diploma or Certificate in Education.
- Proven expertise in a related field, supported by industry-recognised qualifications or experience.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years experience of working within work-based learning
- Familiarity with apprenticeship standards and End-Point Assessment processes.
- Experience using e-portfolio systems to manage learner progress.
- Ability to work to key performance indicators
Skills and competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
- Effective organisational and planning skills, including diary management
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to meet individual learner needs and learning preferences.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in digital fields.
- Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines and targets.
Technical requirements:
- Access to reliable technology and internet for online delivery and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in digital tools and platforms for remote training delivery (e.g., Zoom, Teams, or similar).
Desirable:
- IQA qualification or experience.
- Experience in developing curriculum.
- Previous experience with independent training providers.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and Prevent Duty.
- Access to a car with a full UK driving license.
- Experience of using a range of IT packages.
- Experience of working with young people with SEN.
