About the role:

Billigence is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join us for a 12-month engagement Inside IR35 with one of our leading energy clients. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for the identification and documentation of business requirements for their gas operations team. Previous experience working in the energy trading markets/knowledge on gas markets is vital for this role.

What you'll do:

• Translate business requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options. 
• Outline the scope of IT delivery and provide a high-level solution design.
• Responsible for Gas Ops System configuration and process improvement.
• Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Propose designs/solutions which contribute to project delivery performance and co-ordinate input to devise project test strategy.
• Interact with multiple IT delivery partners to understand software limitations, deliver application designs, and ensure that business requirements and use cases are handled in an Agile manner.
  
  

What you'll need:

• Experience in energy trading markets, with a strong understanding of UK and European Gas markets, including gas networks, Storages, balancing, scheduling, capacity, transportation, pricing, position, P&L, and exposure management. 
• Proficient Technical knowledge including Databases, Data Analysis, SQL, and Power BI.
• Track record of end-to-end project lifecycle delivery as a BA.
• Experience working in Agile project delivery.
• Strong BA experience including capturing business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements.
• Keeps up-to-date knowledge of the energy industry and energy trading.
