Freelance BI Reporting Analyst

  • 2 days week in person working
  • Joining a team of 7 other Red Badger practitioners as part of a cross functional team to work on a data / reporting / BI project for a large PLC client in e-commerce / financial services space. We're building a brand new data product.

The role

The BI Reporting Analyst will be responsible for turning raw data into actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with Red Badger teams and multiple client stakeholders to understand business needs, gather data from multiple sources, and design comprehensive reports and dashboards using Power BI.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to identify reporting needs and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Gather, clean, and analyse data from various sources, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
  • Implement advanced data visualisation techniques to represent complex datasets in an intuitive manner.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure the data and reports align with business objectives and KPIs.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Optimise reports and dashboards for performance and scalability.
  • Troubleshoot data issues and refine the reporting process as needed.
  • Communicate results and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot: Set up observability systems to detect data issues and provide root cause analysis to resolve data integrity and quality problems.

Your experience


 

It'd be great if you have >

  • Excellent communication: This is a consulting, client-facing role. Ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand data needs is key.
  • Proven experience as a BI Reporting Analyst or a similar role.
  • Expertise in Power BI, including report creation, DAX, Power Query, and dashboard design.
  • Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, and relational databases.
  • Proficiency in handling large datasets and ensuring data quality.
  • Experience with SQL, Excel, and other data manipulation tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-solving mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Freelance experience or consulting background is a plus.
  • Availability to work 2 days / week in person.
