Python & AWS Optimisation (Senior Backend) Engineer at Kuppa, London Area, Short-Term, £Competitive Day Rate

This is a short term contractor role, for a Python and AWS skilled engineer to optimise our existing suite of Python APIs.

Kuppa's APIs play a crucial role in providing scalable, high-performance services to our enterprise customers. We have already deployed these APIs on AWS but are facing challenges with:

• Long Python dependency loading times during application start-up.

• Cost inefficiency in our current cloud solution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse and optimise the current deployment of Python APIs on AWS.

• Collaborate with our team to implement best practices for cold start times of python applications with many python dependencies.

• Implement solutions that improve scalability.

• Ensure the solution is cost-effective.

We’re looking for someone who has experience improving the performance of heavy weight python applications.

Specifically:

• Strong experience working with AWS services, including deployment, scaling, and optimisation.

• Previous experience in addressing cold start performance bottlenecks when importing python dependencies and implementing cost-efficient cloud solutions.

Contract details

• Contract rate: Competitive day rate based on experience. Budget for contract up to £10k.

• Contract duration: up to 4 weeks, with an immediate start.

• Location: Preferably based on-site in London, but we are open to remote work for the right candidate.
