Full Stack Engineer / DevOps

About the Role

Join a small team that is creating an entirely new product category from scratch. If you have a true entrepreneurial spirit and are passionate about helping children reach their potential, Nurture is perfect for you.

  • We are looking for someone who is highly ambitious, values autonomy, and is willing to work hard to achieve great things.
  • The Backend/Full stack Engineer will report to the Head of Engineering/CTO. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the backend systems and infrastructure that power Nurture's innovative learning platform.
  • Responsibilities
  • Drawing on your ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse global team, you will:
  • Design and develop scalable backend systems for Nurture's mobile apps and website using Azure & AWS
  • Create and maintain APIs, ensuring seamless integration with frontend applications
  • Implement robust data storage solutions with a focus on security and integrity
  • Support the growth team with technical initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create exceptional user experiences
  • Drive continuous improvement in development processes and methodologies
  • Management of our database

Skills and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in backend development (NodeJS preferred), with expertise in cloud technologies (AWS and Azure)
  • Strong skills in database design, API development, and containerization (e.g., Docker)
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to challenges
  • Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment
  • BONUS: Frontend development experience (React, React Native, or similar frameworks)
  • BONUS: Experience with educational software, AR, AI, or IoT technologies
  • BONUS: Is a parent or engages frequently with children
