SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks.Technology Operations is seeking approval to recruit two engineers on the 2nd Line London team to continue to support the second line permanent resource. The current recruitment constraints are impacting our ability to onboard whilst pressure on resource in this space continues to be high particularly in respect of Estates activity, refresh and ministerial support (including the upcoming election). We are losing two members of full time staff and these contingents will replace these roles. Should we onboard successful candidates before the end date of these engagements, we will terminate the engagements early. Specific key activity is conducting BAU work. This includes issuing of laptops/tablets/headsets/mobile phones to new starters and retrieving these devices when colleagues leave the department. The contingent workers will also be tasked with resolving a wide variety of issues including: hardware faults, operating system errors and device performance issues. They will also provide deskside and VC support. There will also be a continued rollout of capital assets - these assets are Surface Laptops and Surface Pro's as we look to become a USB-C estate and eventually lead to the removal of docking stations. In addition, significant other priorities are putting pressure on BAU in particularAs a 2nd Line Support Analyst, your main responsibilities will be:The rollout of new capital assets to DfE colleaguesOnboarding new starters and building and replacing devicesSupport of new Logitech VC solutionTesting of new system functionalityAssisting with project work including device refreshesAssisting with floor move checks after major renovation works in Sanctuary BuildingsSupporting VIP's including Ministers and their Private OfficesEssential:A broad knowledge and interest in ITExperience providing 2nd line technical support in a corporate IT contextSC is essential.Experience in Cloud Computing.Experience in M365 environment.Desirable:ITIL v3 (2011) Foundation in IT Service Management certificatePrevious IT Deskside support experienceDE&I Commitment
